Requirement

Undertake responsibility for development and roll-out of a WAP-based solution that integrated Flight and Hotel bookings for a leading innovator in the online Travel sector in India.

Challenge

• Complete in a strongly compressed cycle with under-development APIs and unstable client systems
• Ensure the system was scalable in the absence of a "beta" system to benchmark/evaluate against.
• This was the clients first foray into m-space.
• Did not have a clear list of handsets to certify against.

Result

We started out by building awareness on how WAP solutions work and what they could expect and what they couldn't. Then, negotiated a bare-bones API through which we would access the clients and third-party systems and developed buy-in from the senior Technical and General Management of the approach we would take.  We subsequently worked partially on-site during requirements, system integration and testing phases to ensure that we could deliver on-time.
